  43.   Utilities product only supports Windows 95 
  44.   and Windows 98. It is not currently compatible 
  45.   to computers running on Windows ME.

  48.   Aid component has been removed. The functions 
  49.   available in this feature are now available via
  50.   the various improved enhancement features you 
  51.   will find in McAfee Utilities.

  57. NF1 - NEW FEATURES 
  58.  
  59. For more detailed information or step-by-step
  60. instructions on how to use any of the following 
  61. new features, you can either refer to the main 
  62. McAfee Utilities or to each of the individual 
  63. component help files. Simply click the Help 
  64. button (whenever available) to launch the 
  65. corresponding online help.
  66.  
  67. * New Central, more user-friendly
  68.   interface. All functions of McAfee 
  69.   Utilities can be easily accessed 
  70.   through Central with a Web-like
  71.   component look.
  72.  
  73. * Configuration Assistant. This new feature
  74.   allows you to customize how you want 
  75.   McAfee Utilities to work on your computer. 
  76.   Through a series of interview screens, you 
  77.   will be shown information on specific 
  78.   features and tasks of McAfee Utilities and
  79.   will be given the option to set how you want 
  80.   it to work (e.g., running it automatically).

  82. * Zip Mail. This new feature allows you to 
  83.   automatically compress any of your email 
  84.   attachments. File attachments, particularly 
  85.   when it is a big file, is ideal to compress 
  86.   so that it can be sent faster.

  88. * New Update feature. With a single click
  89.   of the button, the Update feature, in a
  90.   one-step process, will do software check, 
  91.   download and installalation.
  92.  
  93. * TaskMaster. This new feature enables user
  94.   to create or customized Windows startup
  95.   configurations. You can specify what 
  96.   applications to run with its configurations
  97.   saved and loaded on demand.

  99. * Active Tune. This new feature prevents 
  100.   fragmentation of your hard disk by 
  101.   continously defragmenting it, silently in
  102.   background. Without degrading performance,
  103.   you can enable or disable it for any
  104.   combination of hard drives or partitions
  105.   on your computer system.

  107. * McAfee Print Directory. This new feature is 
  108.   a convenient way in printing file or files 
  109.   from a specific folder. You can also include
  110.   the sub-folders. With McAfee Print Directory,
  111.   you do not have to go through each of the files
  112.   from a specific folder to print each file one
  113.   after the other. You only need to select the 
  114.   folder where the files are located and click 
  115.   Print to perform the task.

  117. * EZ Setup now offers a customizable MS Office 
  118.   configuration tab. This allows users to 
  119.   customize the Open/Save dialog place bar in 
  120.   MS Office 2000. It now also has a new logon 
  121.   message feature that allows user to customize 
  122.   logon message.

  124. * Registry Pro now has a browser-like interface
  125.   that is easy to use and enhances its new features 
  126.   such as its drag and drop capabilities. It also
  127.   makes Registry Pro perform its tasks faster.

  129. * First Aid has an increased support for Windows ME
  130.   operating systems. It also added more hardware
  131.   checking capability covering serial port, parallel
  132.   port, memory and system hardware checks.

  134. * Rescue Disk has now added support for Zip250 drives.
  135.   This will enable users to create a Zip Rescue Disk
  136.   for booting their computer in case of a system 
  137.   failure.

  139. * Inclusion of QuickClean Lite. McAfee Utilities now
  140.   uses QuickClean Lite. This is the component that 
  141.   enables you to get rid of unused files and invalid 
  142.   shortcuts.  You can set up QuickClean Lite to get 
  143.   rid of unnecessary files and junk on your computer 
  144.   at regular intervals while you work.

  146. * Improved shredding capabilities. McAfee Shredder now 
  147.   offers improved shredding capabilities with its custom 
  148.   feature that allows you to indicate how many shredding
  149.   passes you want to make in deleting files. It allows up 
  150.   to 99 passes.

  152. * Image selective restore options. Once an image is 
  153.   created using the McAfee Image, the user is now able to 
  154.   selectively restore an individual drive or drives.  
  155.   Note: Users can only restore if there are significant 
  156.   differences between the image and the system.

  162. Network Associates provides each of its
  163. products with an extensive set of documentation,
  164. consisting usually of one or more product guides
  165. saved in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format
  166. (.PDF), and an online help system, whose form
  167. can vary, depending on the platform on which the
  168. product runs.
  169.  
  170. Acrobat .PDF files are flexible online documents
  171. that contain hyperlinks, outlines and other aids
  172. for easy navigation and information retrieval.
  173. You can also install an Acrobat plug-in file
  174. that allows you to read .PDF documents from
  175. within your web browser while online. Copies
  176. of the product documentation come with the
  177. product CD-ROM.

  202.    site in Adobe Acrobat .PDF format.

  207.    document all product functions extensively,
  208.    and discuss how best to use your Network

  211.  * An Administrator's Guide saved on the product
  212.    CD-ROM or installed on your hard disk in
  213.    Adobe Acrobat .PDF format. Administrator's
  214.    Guides describe how to deploy, maintain and
  215.    administer Network Associates server-based

  218.  * Specialized guides. These can include
  219.    reference guides, deployment guides,
  220.    configuration guides, vulnerability guides

  226.    use your Network Associates software. The
